The 1910s were years defined by extreme tension and change across most of the world. As World War I reshaped nations and millions of lives, an entire generation of young soldiers found themselves living through one of the deadliest conflicts in modern history. Many of the photographs from that era survive only in black and white, which can make the people and events feel distant, despite how deeply they shaped the twentieth century.
These photos bring a new sense of realism to that period. The added color makes the uniforms, faces, and battlefield scenes feel far more immediate and human, revealing details that are often lost in older photos. Together, these images offer a powerful glimpse into the lives of soldiers during a decade that would change the world forever.
