35 Vintage Photos of 1942

1942 was one of those years when headlines blared of numerous battles as well as ration books. Yet, the whole time cameras also found moments of grit, profound ingenuity, and all kinds of stubborn hope.

Each of these snapshots is able to capture a split-second of normal people then adapting to extraordinary circumstances. Flip through these 35 images and then experience a truly pivotal year when history’s weight was pressed down, yet humanity kept right on shining through the lens.
