1. Ted Bundy

Bundy was known for a series if murders across several states in the 1970s. He was convicted and executed after multiple trials tied him to numerous victims.
2. Jeffrey Dahmer

Dahmer was convicted of multiple murders in Milwaukee between 1978 and 1991. His case drew attention especially for how long he evaded capture.
3. David Berkowitz

He is also known as the Son of Sam, who carried out a series of shootings in New York City in 1976-77. He pleaded guilty and received multiple life sentences.
4. Richard Ramirez

The “Night Stalker” was linked to a string of home-invasion murders in California in 1984. He was convicted and received a death sentence.
5. Dennis Rader

The BTK killer used to send taunting letters while committing murders in Kansas from the 70s to the 90s. he was arrested in 2005 and is currently serving life sentences.

The “Unabomber” was responsible for a mail-bomb campaign that lasted from 1978 to 1995. He pleaded guilty in federal court and received life in prison.
7. Timothy McVeigh

He carried out the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing that killed 168 people. After that, he was convicted in federal court and executed.
8. Eric Harris

Harris is one of two students who carried out the 1999 Columbine High School attack. He died at the scene, and the case reshaped school-safety discussions nationwide.

9. Dylan Klebold

Klebold was the second Columbine gunman in 1999. He also died at the scene. Their yearbook photos became part of the public record afterward.
10. Kip Kinkel

Kinkel killed his parents and then opened fire at Thurston High School in 1998. He pleaded guilty and received a lengthy prison term.
11. Brenda Spencer

12. John Hinckley Jr.

13. Marc David Chapman

15. Susan Smith

16. Aileen Wuornos

20. Casey Anthony

She was tried in Florida for the 2008 death of her daughter, Caylee. A jury acquitted her of murder and manslaughter in 2011 but convicted her of providing false information to the police.
