A split image: left shows a woman in a red top, shorts, and boots standing by a road with luggage; right shows a woman in a white outfit leaning on a car at night.

By the middle of the seventies, the decade had fully settled into its own identity. The styles were louder, the cars were bigger, and pop culture seemed to spread everywhere all at once. It was the era of record stores, drive-ins, and nights spent actually going out instead of staring at screens. The world felt a little slower, and a little rougher around the edges, but we loved it that way.

The hairstyles, clothing, expressions, and everyday surroundings all reflect a moment in time that now feels distant. Whether it’s crowded concerts or snapshots into everyday life, the images offer a real look at what the mid-seventies looked like for the people who lived through them. Let’s take a look at 39 photos from the mid-seventies.

Whether it’s a centuries-old legend or a bizarre internet rabbit hole, Patrick is always chasing the threads of a compelling story. When he’s not chasing stories, Pat’s probably hiking mountain trails with his dog, exploring new corners of the U.S., or doom-scrolling between hangouts with friends and family. He finds inspiration in nature, forgotten places, and random conversations—anything that sparks curiosity. Whether it’s city streets or backcountry paths, Patrick’s always on the lookout for the next great story.
