Tunnels are feats of engineering meant to make travel easier, but not all of them inspire confidence. Some tunnels seem to belong in a horror movie rather than a transportation network, from crumbling brickwork to eerie lighting and impossibly narrow passages. These photos of tunnels certainly manage to capture one’s attention, and we can’t necessarily say that it’s for the best of reasons.
